Who we are

The #svegliamuseo team is made of young professionals with strong backgrounds in the cultural and museum fields. We have diversified working experiences, in Italy and abroad, ranging from museums, web and pr agencies, as well as the trenches of archaeological diggings.

We know a few things about social media marketing; web content editing; curatorship; digital & traditional PR; archaeology; communication; museology; and, last but not least, digital strategy.

Some of us can also bake cookies. Others prefer to eat them.

Francesca De Gottardo – Founder & Project Manager

Francesca is the mind behind #svegliamuseo and its creation, of which she is now project manager, as well as content and strategy developer.

Having seen Indiana Jones one too many times, she graduated in Archaeology of the Near East and Ancient Egypt at the University of Pisa, and then went on to attain a Master in Marketing and Communication at the Bocconi University. Before reinventing herself as a fundraiser for cultural and humanitarian organizations, she experience the world of publication houses and cultural foundations.

Today she is a no-profit content and social media manager carrying on a research on the use of social media in the museum field for the Smithsonian Institution. She strongly believes in the power of the web and of online communication: something good always comes out from confronting as many people as possible.

She loves reading under the covers, quoting Start Wars and trying new recepies around the world.

Valeria Gasparotti – Project Manager

Valeria manages content and supports the strategic development of #svegliamuseo.
She has a strong international experience in planning, implementing and communicating digital interpretative tools in museums contexts. While moving from Milan to Amsterdam to Washington DC, she has developed diversified skills in the field of digital interpretation, project management, communication and management of culture, as well as museum studies.
She is interested in the digital transformation processes that institutions need to activate to remain relevant.
She is a natural red, but she dyes her hair anyway, to reinforce the concept.

Alessandro D’Amore – Storytelling Expert

Alessandro D’Amore plays the role of storytelling expert, while also managing the daily social interactions and the content management.
He graduated in Classical Archaeology at the University of Siena, and holds a Master in Communication and New Media at the University of San Marino. After gaining a strong experience on archaeological sites, he began to dig beneath the words, the objects and the places – both digital and real.
He worked as Assistant Curator at the National Museum of Archaeology in Valletta, designing and developing educational projects, and then as Internet & Social Media Content Manager at the State Museum of the Republic of San Marino, where he worked in managing their social platforms, training staff and developing a digital strategy for the institution.
He believes in the power of stories and words.
Proud of being born in Molise, he now lives in Forlì but often dreams of escaping elsewhere.

Collaborators
Aurora Raimondi Cominesi

Always a passionate supporter of the project, Aurora continues to contribute to #svegliamuseo as translator, relentless editor and backup for any special event.
After graduating in Classical Archaeology at the University of Pisa with a thesis on Roman wall-paintings, she pursued her dream of working in a museum and got her first internship at the Archaeological Museum of Cremona. To this she added a year as Curatorial Intern in the Antiquities Department of the J.-Paul Getty Museum. She is now working at the Restoring Ancient Stabiae Foundation as archaeologist and person in charge of temporary exhibitions.
To conquer her for good (and culturally speaking only), treat her with the grammar book of a language she does not know. Like swahili, for example.

    Ragazzi,

    Complimenti e a presto!
    Stefano
