Communicating The Culture Online: A Practical Guide For Museums.
Website Design, Content Management, Social Media and Evaluation.
Note: the ebook is available in Italian only. We are making plans to have it translated in English. In the meantime, we hope our international community won’t be too much disappointed 😉 If you have any questions on the ebook, don’t hesitate to shoot us an email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
The #svegliamuseo team created a practical guide to help the Museums unravel the various and difficult terms featuring in the world of digital communication, from web usability to Facebook edge rank, from indirect storytelling to Google analytics’ dashboards.
In a fast moving sector like the digital one, we believe it might be useful to pause for once and have a look at where we are now. We examine the potential of each social media platform when applied to museum communication and the main rules of web-content management, as well as the best advices to turn your website into an accessible and user-friendly tool.
This ebook is the result of a communal thinking on the many connections between culture and digital we have been carrying on together with numerous Museum professionals in Italy and abroad. But it is especially an endeavor we were lucky enough to be able to carry on with some talented people with whom we have crossed paths during the development of #svegliamuseo: Federico Giannini , founder of the successful blog, and Facebook page, Finestre Sull’Arte; Astrid d’Eredità, strenuous twitterer, especially for the Associazione Nazionale Archeologi (one of many accounts); and, least but not last, Pietro Colella, hardcore digital strategist, analytics expert and marketing pro for the profit sector.
All together we form a group of young (and passionate) professionals in the cultural and digital field. A group willing to make its contribution in spreading the knowledge of those tools that are often neglected, undervalued, misunderstood or, worse, given for granted.
Our ebook addresses Museum professionals approaching social networks, or the web in general, for the very fist time, as well as those more experienced but eager to know more.
“Social” international best practices to draw inspiration from; self-evaluation systems and practical examples to better undestand the value of analytics – this ebook is intended to clarify how the cultural online communication really works, and to help planning a successfull digital strategy so easily that you could do it from under your beach umbrella!
It is available for free on our website starting from August 2014.
We would like to thank Tropico del Libro, for supporting us in editing and creating the actual ebook, and La Giornata Nazionale delle Famiglie al Museo for offering to contribute https://www.viagrasansordonnancefr.com/ou-acheter-du-viagra/ to its circulation.
