Last Saturday, May the 17th, 2014, our team has taken part, as public, speaker and media partner, to the conference Museum Collections Make Connections, organized by the Museo Nazionale della Scienza e della Tecnologia of Milano in collaboration with ICOM Italia and on the occasion of the International Museum Day.

While Francesca attended, as a speaker, the workshop “Digital Museums”, Aurora and Alessandro were busy tweeting live the various workshops, and Valeria glued the pieces back together (this is our Storify of the day).

Virtual meetings among museums colleagues around the world that use Google Hangout and are broadcasted live on YouTube, where they are also recorded.

Museo Nacional del Prado, Madrid


We might never know what vision had Charles III of Spain in mind when he asked his architect, Juan de Villanueva, to build a house for his Cabinet of Natural History, in 1785. What we know is that this Cabinet became the Prado Museum, now with 1,300 works on display, 3,100 on temporary loan, many others in storage, of which 1,000 are accessible with full description in English, and more than 5,000 in the Spanish version, through the museum virtual gallery.
